May this P.R.A.Y.E.R. journal become a marker stone set up along
your journey to Canaan commemorating a new dimension
of friendship and victory with your Friend and Savior.

For this journal, we’ve created an acronym—P.R.A.Y.E.R.—to give you an easy-to-remember way of developing a vibrant conversational life with your Lord. P.R.A.Y.E.R. goes like this:
•• Praise —Start your prayers with praise to our mighty God of the universe! (See Psalm 145 for a great example of praise.)
•• Repentance —“All our righteousness are as filthy rags.” We come as sinners to the throne of grace, pleading for the blood of the Lamb to cleanse us from all of our sins. This is a must in secret prayer. “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18).
•• Ask —Ask boldly of the Lord, setting before Him the needs of those you come into contact with and for all humanity. Seek for their conversation and ultimate salvation. “Select another and still another soul, daily seeking guidance from God, laying everything before Him in earnest prayer, and working in divine wisdom” (Medical Ministry, 245). “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
•• You —Seek for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and ask for power and victory over every sin in your life. Desire of Him every wonderful character trait that you may become like Him. Set before Him your plans, dreams, desires, and aspirations. Then listen for direction. “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”
(Luke 11:10).
•• Expect —As you approach the E in your prayers, you should expect great answers from your Friend. Remember, we should come to Him “nothing wavering” (James 1:6).
•• Receive —Hebrews 11:6 says that “without faith it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” As we daily talk with our Lord, we receive all we can ask or imagine from His storehouse, “where are treasured the boundless resources of Omnipotence” (Steps to Christ, 94)
