Case in Court
I have heard people try to 'teach' or preach the idea of 'The Sanctuary'. And I always end up with more questions than I had answers to begin with. This a problem with SDA in general. We hold so much in this message, that when we try to teach it, we lose those that have little to no exposure on the subject or idea. We forget what it is like to start from the beginning to try to understand certain basics. (I am seeing more and more that after 20 years, we fail at this aspect in MANY more areas than just what this book deals with, but I digress)... Then we have this wonderful book. I have put all of the failed sermons out of my mind after reading this. I wont say this is as deep a study as you will ever need. But if you can understand the ideas this covers, you are more than set up for a more deeper study. You certainly will be armed with a better understanding of your salvation though Christ. I would recommend this to read at your own pace for your own understanding. I would also recommend this as a (or part of) study class on the concepts of the Sanctuary. If you are coming from another denomination that teaches "start at the new testament to understand the Bible" then you really need this to get not only Old Testament symbolism of Jesus, but what this means for our eternal future. I finally see that this subject does not need to be an entire quarter years worth of a study. It certainly does not need to be tried to explained in intricate detail in Sabbath morning sermons than only leave the most of the congregation almost totally confused.
